What did you do this weekend??

The kids went up to Sebastopol with Omi and Omi, but no parents!
From the look of things, and by all reports, they has an AWESOME time!!
Thanks Omi & Opi!

It’s apple time! Heirloom Gravensteins – ahhh, the sweet smell alone gets me every time.

So — where were Mark and Vale you ask? It was Bachelor and Bachelorette weekend for Cole and Kiera.
The boys went to Vegas, and the girls stayed home in SF.
No Paparazzi!

okay, maybe one photo:

From left to right, that’s me, Maggie (Kiera’s friend), Nanu, Georgia the frenchie, Jeanette (Kiera’s mom), Lauren (Kiera’s sister), Madie, and Whitney (Kiera’s friend). Fun Weekend! XOXO!

And one more with all of us (Kiera!)…

Lucy James, The Story Teller

18 Aug 2011

“Mommy, home!”
[my garage door opens, I begin to pull the car in]

“Daddy’s bike. Lucy go bike.”
[(to myself: wow. did she just say that?) “Sorry, sweetie, Daddy’s at work.”]

“Up. be-belt off. Cole Cole. Down!”
[“sure, we can go say hi”]

Lucy is makin’ a move these days. She has entered the game. She is climbing up on the chair, and jumping from it to the bed, with a tummy landing. She is putting her shoes on all by herself (and taking them off at will). She is jumping down stairs, causing me to go grey. And now, she’s talking about it. The only question remaining is when will she call Oscar by his name.

This morning I said, “c’mon guys, we gotta get in the car.” She said “Okay, let’s go, ‘cool!”
I love that she says Hi Bob to the crossing guard. Really cute.

Midsummer Night’s Dream – An Engagement Party

15 Aug 2011

This weekend we had ourselves a bash! Here are the photos – I have to admit they are badly one-sided, with not enough of Alex’s people! (I didn’t take any photos, and the old adage is true – you never take good photos at your own party. So, that’s my disclaimer.) Alex’s mom, Becky, was our generous and gracious co-host. This gorgeous place is her garden.

Alex and Madie were adorable, the desserts were wonderful, the drinks were flowing, the fire was roaring, the lights were twinkling, the roses were fragrant, the laughter was happy… Let the wedding planning begin!

First Day of School – 1st Grade!

15 Aug 2011

Oscar got Sue for his teacher, and is thrilled to have Lucas in his class. We had a very smooth morning with only one comment of “Mommy I’m nervous!” – Hope he has fun today! (p.s. Where did summer go?! That was fast!)

We forgot to take a photo of the kids on the front steps of the house. I blame that on my sleepyness. Shoot! There goes that tradition. Maybe I’ll fake it tomorrow morning?

Here’s our drive to school – to the left is a big view of Eureka valley/Castro.

We parked across the street and walked down the hill together.

Clarendon!

The classic. I love how this one came out.

Here’s out teacher, Sue Clemente, with Alyssa, from last year’s class.

Hooray! SO happy for this.

There they go…

Ridin’ The Rails

09 Aug 2011

Nana and Chief took Oscar to Sacramento on Amtrak yesterday. I think the visit was inspired by the trains near their new home in Emeryville. If ya can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
They said the trip was easy and a lot of fun. And they took photos! These are my favorites.
