The Kapok Tree

23 May 2012

While I was gone on my Girls Weekend to Ashland, Mark and the kids were busy. Among the soccer games and meals and other stuff, there were some important things I was sorry to miss.

Mark took photos of the Art exhibit. I put them in with that post.

And, Oscar was pretty much the star of his class play, The Kapok Tree.
The class worked hard to learn their lines, and make their set & costumes.
This was Oscar’s first play!
Mark took two movies:

Part one – the introduction
(don’t worry – it’s not crooked)

Part two – the play. (Almost 15 minutes. Oscar comes on at about 1:15.)

Also, Allix and Stuart (a.k.a. Uncle Mac’n’Cheese) came to town (They live in the UK).
Kristi got to see them for about 30 minutes!

Crissy Field Trip

I got to go with Oscar’s class yesterday (Thanks for watching Lucy, Chief!).
It was pretty much spectacular. The weather held, perfectly. Here’s my photos, with the point-n-shoot. (Talk about the wrong camera for bird watching!) I love Oscar’s class, and this was way too much fun. Lucky us!!

First Day of School – 1st Grade!

15 Aug 2011

Oscar got Sue for his teacher, and is thrilled to have Lucas in his class. We had a very smooth morning with only one comment of “Mommy I’m nervous!” – Hope he has fun today! (p.s. Where did summer go?! That was fast!)

We forgot to take a photo of the kids on the front steps of the house. I blame that on my sleepyness. Shoot! There goes that tradition. Maybe I’ll fake it tomorrow morning?

Here’s our drive to school – to the left is a big view of Eureka valley/Castro.

We parked across the street and walked down the hill together.

Clarendon!

The classic. I love how this one came out.

Here’s out teacher, Sue Clemente, with Alyssa, from last year’s class.

Hooray! SO happy for this.

There they go…
