Stuff I want for Christmas

01 Dec 2010

I always say I’m going to start early, make a list, stay organized.
Maybe this will be a good place for all the lovely things I find.
Even if I don’t get any of this stuff, it will be nice to look at. :)

I saw this poster and it was love at first sight.

This is the best shampoo – Susan gave me a bottle once – and it’s been my favorite in my mind ever since. And of course I always want a little sugar in my bowl.

I know there is a salt craze going on out there. I want in.

I love this photo beyond words.

It is a sad day when you are out of this hand cream.

This is my favorite letter of the alphabet, by my favorite typographer in the world.

Great olive oil is a terrific indulgence.

I’m back into sidecars with a vengeance.

When I was little I loved collecting little animals. I want to get back to my roots. I love this fox and his little woodland friends!

This is the best wall calendar going right now.

This envelope is so clever! I would keep my best treasures in it. Or maybe send it to a friend.

Did you know that I need these? It’s true.

The New Restoration Hardware

10 Oct 2010

Girl’s recon trip last Thursday.
Had to check out Resto’s new digs at 188 Henry Adams Street in the old Ed Hardy Antiques Showroom. (Not like I was a regular there – I think I went once with Harriet & Cecca in high school.) The place is making waves because it is a Chain store, and open to the public as opposed to The Trade. Heavens. Not sure which is worse. Read a good article if you’re interested.

It was soooo lovely. Madie, Kiera and I all agreed, the prices are so stratospheric, we might as well have been in a museum. (Full of faux antiques.) Oddly, the goods were so out of our budget that we weren’t even pining over anything. Or doing the number crunching in our heads. So it was a great little trip with a quick bite at an outdoor table in the warm sunshine.

I wish I had taken a photo of the polished cement floors there – that was probably my favorite. (I didn’t like their crunchy pea gravel outside – it looked fine but what a mess – I’d never choose it for myself.) Here, for fun, are some of the things we liked a lot – and a ridiculous price example for the thing I found for Lucy:

And here are the quick snaps I did take. :)

An pretty random assortment I’ve got here for you!

These smelled incredible but the recipe needs work. They kinda fell apart on us. Anyone got a good recipe for us?

We have a ‘forest in progress’ because our landscape photographs that normally hang on this wall are out on loan.

Georgia has all her shots and is finally free to run! I don’t know who’s happier, Georgia, or Cole & Kiera!

Not ice cream! It’s cake with chocolate frosting!
(Adapted from Bakerella).

We don’t want any! *slam*

A couple more. The onsie is from Sarah in NY, and these Boden pants are getting lots of compliments!

Bath tonight: “Mom! This is so awesome!”

Fly Shoes and Super Heroes

17 Sep 2010

I just saw these on Etsy:

With Oscar getting into a super hero phase, these would be so fun!

And on a related note:
Cole just entrusted his old comic book collection to Oscar.
(I had to pull “Batman vs. Predator” from the stack.)
But overall, a bona fide treasure trove! Thanks Uncle Cole!

Lastly, this is the book Oscar picked out at his school library this week.
Moms, I recommend it as a great intro to lots of the characters.
