Madie and Alex Are Moving

18 Mar 2013

They are headed to Oakland! We are a little sad to see them leave SF, but so excited for their new home! I got to go see a preview of it tonight! It’s AWESOME. They are in the Piedmont Avenue neighborhood, just below Pleasant Valley.

There is so much there! We did a little driving and looking, but I know we didn’t even see half of the shops and restaurants there. (We totally could have walked. I’m sure the walk-ability rating is 100.) They had me at Peet’s 3 blocks away, but I’m also super excited for the Tiki Bar a few blocks in the other direction. There’s a movie theater, Fenton’s Ice cream parlor, and even a little Deruta shop we were ogling.

(Cole took this at Fenton’s, May 2009 – Oscar is about Lucy’s age now: 3 and a half)

But back to the new house. Madie and Alex have the sunny front side with a view all the way to Mt. Tam! There’s a sweet and generously sized front porch on the quiet tree-lined street. I look forward to sipping tea and watching the sun set this summer!

Here’s a couple of shots from my phone – the place is in great shape with gorgeous Edwardian details.
And, look how cute Madie is in her scrubs and belly! (Baby is due End of July.)

Happy 90th Birthday Nana!

26 Jan 2013

I’m so Happy for Nana! January 20th was her 90th Birthday!

Unfortunately Mark and I, and the kids, had to miss her party at the last minute! Oscar had a fever, and I had a weird allergic reaction. Lucy, for the record, was game to go with out us. She was heartbroken to miss the birthday party. So was I!

Cole took these wonderful photos, and he was awesome to let me post them here. :)

I think they’re watching the slideshow

Sweet Kiera made pretty rose cupcakes

With her sister, H.L.

And, here’s the little slideshow I made for the lunch:

Last but not least, a Big Thank You to Aunt Julie for organizing the party!
I heard through the grapevine it was a beautiful success.

I’m sorry to say, Nanu’s sister Pam has passed away.
I feel better to think she is in a more comfortable place.
We will miss her so much!

p.s. I like this photo – I think its funny that I’m so sullen. (I’d love to be there now!) Pam looks great, and of course I feel mom’s presence as the photographer. She tells me Harrod’s is right around the corner, and we were just on our way there.

2012 – a Year in Review (Slideshow)

03 Jan 2013

The slideshow run time is about 9 minutes…

It was so hard to edit down such a wonderful year!
Love and hugs to you all. xoxo

ps. This show is Also Available on your mobile device! Mark again performed his magic to get it there. One day maybe this won’t seem like such a feat of computing strength… Anyways, while it’s not quite as deluxe as the Flash version, it is nice to have the flexibility to see it on your iPhone or iPad.

pps. If, like Oscar, you’re yawing by June, hang in there, the music gets better. :)

Christmas Night 2012

27 Dec 2012

What a sweet ending to a small happy Christmas…
We drove thru the rain to cozy Glashaus.
Madie and Alex met us there.
Cole and Kiera are in NY, so we did a little iFace Time.
We all got treated to beautiful gifts, and a beautiful tree!
Nanu made enchiladas verdes con crema, and an amazing flan..
After dinner Nanu surprised us with old videos she had put to dvd.
Thanks guys! Spoiling O&L once again! ;)
