Valentine’s Day ’12

Happy Valentine’s Day! Oscar and Lucy have just Gorged on chocolate and cookies, and now they are shredding the living room while I escape the sugar madness, and write this post. Crossing my fingers I can get this done before Lucy runs out of candy hearts. (Considering how many she shoves in her mouth at once, my chances are slim.) Here we go:


This was a couple nights ago, but it was a blockbuster when I posted it to facebook. iPhones get all the best moments.


Cookies on the agenda! Nanu took the day off from work (yesterday) and we baked together!

Valentines Day Party At School

This was the sweetest little class party you could imagine. Ms. Ruth runs a tight ship – always – so the kids know how to behave. They were excited and happy, but no one was shouting, running around or causing friction. It was pretty amazing. They were busy little bees, passing out their valentines, or cookies, or other treats. They all had decorated paper sacks to keep all the goodies, and pink-heart napkins. The Valentines are so cute with the kids hand written names on them! Total flashback.

Lucy did pretty well! (Did you see her new rain boots? Thanks Kristi!!)
She sat at a table for a long time, with her sippy cup and some treats. The chairs are just the right size. When she got a little braver, she toured the classroom. The kids are all really nice to her. When she saw the big bin of crayons, she grabbed two giant handfuls of them and tried to make a break for it. Other than that she was pretty well behaved. I suppose it’s contagious!

I stayed up last night making these sugar cookies with royal icing. Think I made enough??

The assorted Valentines are for Oscar’s kindergarten teacher, for his classmates, and from others for us. My favorite Valentine is from Mark to me, a letterpress V from Jessica Hische. Oh, and the Phone!! From Lucy’s Fairy GM, Kristi with love (such a hit!) XOXO
