Oscar’s Pumpkin Pie

20 Nov 2011

We made pumpkin pie so Oscar could see if he liked it.
He enjoyed the baking. He loved the spices

He enjoyed the finished product, and was so excited to have a piece for breakfast when it was cool. But he didn’t like the taste. With a slight sadness in his voice he said, “Maybe I’ll like it next year”. (Broke my heart..)

The recipe made two, so Oscar the elf delivered one next door.

Lucy’s Ballerina Party

05 Nov 2011

A Huge Thank you to Matisse and Cora, our beautiful ballerinas, for making our party so fun and lovely!
Thank you to Jeanette for sending adorable ballet cookies, post haste! My other hero at the post office is Fairy Godmother Kristi, who sent the party favors – as you can see, they were way too cute.
Thank you to Cole and Kiera, for taking such pretty pictures – without which there would be no show (You can never take photos at your own party). I loved the party! Lucy did too – ” ‘Allerina Party! Cakes! Big Party!”
Last, Thanks Honey (Mark), for driving around, getting those huge pink balloons, and most importantly, for putting up the ballet barre in our living room (a.k.a. the dance studio), which totally passed the ballerina test. Hooray! You rock. xxoo

Happy Halloween 2011

01 Nov 2011

Here’s my snapshots from my new iPhone (not bad…?) We went trick or treating with Ariel, and his dad Andrew is the Rockstar in the photos. They were super fun, and their neighborhood (West Clay) rocks. All along Lake Street is so fun. (They had a kick-ass band!)
Mark used to go trick-or-treating there as a kid! I love that. Omi and Opi let us park in their garage (thanks!) Both kids were really into it this year – it was a classic!

Also, here’s some cute shots from this year’s Clarendon Halloween Carnival. Oscar went thru the haunted house with me, and was FREAKED. It was scary. (awesome scary.) He was the only kid in his class who had the nerve to do it – or so I heard. Trouble is, he got so scared I bet he won’t go back next year. :) He didn’t even want to talk about it, for fear we get the idea of making him go again. P.S. That’s Bianca, but don’t make the mistake of calling her his girlfriend!
